Joyline M – Profile and Certificates

When I migrated to South Africa in 2008 I was a cleaner for the first 4 years. I however really had a passion for looking after kids. In 2013 I worked for a family that had 2 girls. Giana, who was 4 months and Layla, who was 3 yrs old. The family was at first skeptical about me taking care of their children because I did not have the required nanny experience. However, they were so surprised and impressed at how good I was at caring for their daughter Giana at 4 months old that they continued trusting her in my care. The family unfortunately immigrated to New Zealand. I then worked for a family, the W Family, that migrated from the UK from the 1st of May 2016- January 2018.
They were so impressed with my work ethic and ability to look after their kids so they paid for my nanny course. I needed a full time job and at the W family I only had 2 days, as Lorna, was a stay-at-home mom. January 2018 I found another job in Rondebosch where I am
currently working. I am looking after their 2 boys who are aged 3 and 18 months. When I started I was taking care of one child and he was 4 months old at the time. The brother was not yet born. This family helped me with my driving lessons. I currently have a learner’s licence and will soon take a driver’s test to obtain my licence. This is amongst the many things they have done for me and I think it is evident of how happy they are with my work. Working for these different families has made me grow not only professionally but build character. While I have always been a diligent and honest worker with a passion for kids, my work experiences has aided in me strengthening these characteristics. Because they saw these characteristics within me, they have gone out of their way to help develop me both professionally and in my personal life, testament of the value I add to my employment. I can therefore only continue to add this value to whichever employment I am placed in. You can be assured that trusting a child in my care will, just like my previous employers, leave any employer impressed.
